We foodies are a patriotic bunch. We continue to support the economy by eating out, purchasing high-end and organic foods exclusively, and we're indulging ourselves with exotic ingredients. According to a study called "Foodies in the U.S", we're trendy too, although we don't like to say so. Research shows that we're more likely than average adults to be the first among our friends to shop at new stores or try new styles. And unlike most Americans, who eat at fast food chains for the sake of convenience, we avoid fast food and consider dining out to be a hobby or leisure activity. Food is more than just fuel to us-it defines who we are and how we approach and travel the world.
