A new line of pasta sauces from Mario Batali honor the celebrity chef's commitment to good food and green living. All four varieties-Arrabiata, Alla Vodka, Marianara and Pomodoro e Basilico-are all-natural and crafted from fresh herbs, spices and imported San Marzano tomatoes with no added paste, purees or sugars. Batali chose Summer Garden Foods' green facility in Boardman, Ohio, to manufacture the sauces. Certified as organic and environmentally friendly by both state and national organizations, Summer Garden Foods specializes in small-batch production, ensuring a high level of consistent quality. "We all have a responsibility to take care of the planet," says Batali. "Although there is still a long way to go, Summer Garden Foods and I are trying to do our part and hopefully contribute to not a passing industry fad, but an improved way of doing business." The line is priced between $7.99 and $8.99.
