Rachael Ray Goes to the Dogs
Charity-driven Nutrish line
user ratingWhen I was growing up, our dog Winnie ate dry ShopRite-brand dog food with whatever scraps were left over from dinner. Today, dogs and cats are eating as well as-or better-than their owners, making pet food a $16 billion business. Now Food Network darling Rachael Ray, with her keen eye for marketing and her passion for pets, has launched a charity-driven line of dog foods based on recipes she has created for her pit bull, Isaboo. A portion of the proceeds from the food and treats will go to charities and organizations that help animals in need, which are listed at www.rachaelsrescue.org.
Rachael Ray Nutrish includes two varieties of all-natural dog food featuring real meat as the first ingredient. Real Chicken and Veggies and Real Beef and Brown Rice will have dogs all over your neighborhood howling "Yum-O." In addition, there are no by-products, fillers, artificial flavors or preservatives. She's made snacks too. Isaboo Booscotti are crunchy treats in bacon and peanut butter flavors, and Isaboo Grill Bites chewy treats come in beefy burger and bacony burger varieties. They include calcium and antioxidants like vitamin E and selenium. And what's a Rachel Ray product without some EVOO? This food has some of it for added omega fatty acids. Don't fret feline fans-a line for cats also is in the works.-Denise Shoukas
