Savini Truffles
user rating
The Savini family name is synonymous with truffles in Tuscany. Their passion for truffles began in the early 1920s and has continued to grow over the last four generations. With the help of well-trained truffle dogs and a network of gatherers that cooperates with the Savinis every year, the truffle hunt takes place in an area where the provinces of Pisa, Florence and Siena meet the communes of Palaia, San Minato and Volterra. In 2007, the Savini family’s dog, Rocco, found the largest Tuscan white truffle on record, 1.497 kilos (3.3 pounds), as listed in Guinness World Records.
